The man behind the camera
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved taking pictures. When I was a child, I remember nagging my mum and dad for my own camera so I could take pictures of the wildlife down at the local nature reserve. A few years later I went on to study art and film photography at school, where I spent hours and hours in the darkroom learning all about the craft of photography.
After launching my wedding photography business and shooting a few weddings in a more traditional style, I soon realised that my real passion was in capturing real and unposed moments throughout the wedding day. This was when I made the decision to focus on a style of wedding photography called documentary wedding photography. This style of photography has become very popular over recent years, especially in the UK. In the digital age we live in, we are all very familiar with having our photographs taken and many of us, including myself, have become a little self-conscious when ‘posing’ in front of a camera. So if you don’t like having your photograph taken, I may well be the photographer for you! To find out if this style of wedding photography is right for you, head over to the about you page.
I consider myself very fortunate to have grow up in Weymouth on the beautiful Dorset coast, which is where I still live with my amazing wife and son.
